The Delayed Fluorescence of Indole in Alcohol-Alkane Mixed Glasses at 77 K
نویسنده
چکیده
Using a phosphoroscope and a pulsed light-signal integrator, the effect of alcohol on the delayed fluorescence of indole was investigated in alcohol-isopentane mixed glasses at 77 K. The delayed fluorescence intensity was strongly depended on the alcohol concentration and the polarity of alcohol. Trapped electrons causing the delayed fluorescence were separated into two species utilizing the scavenge effect of CCI4; shallow trappedelectrons sensitive to CCI4 and deep trapped-electrons insensitive to CCI4. The former electrons seem to be responsible for the delayed fluorescence at low alcohol concentrations, whereas the latter for the delayed fluorescence at higher alcohol concentrations. The delayed fluorescence decayed exponentially at low alcohol concentrations, but it decayed with the Debye-Edwards law of t"1 at higher alcohol concentrations. The recombination mechanism of trapped electrons with parent cations was discussed. The structure of shallow traps was also estimated.

Electrical conductivity anomaly in silver vadadium-tellurite glasses at temperatures higher than a characteristic temperature: evidence for an ionic-nonadiabatic polaronic mixed conduction
Electrical conduction anomaly was observed in the mixed ion-polaron regime for xAg2O-40TeO2-(60-x)V2O5 glassy system with 0 ≤x≤ 50 mol%, which were prepared by common melt quenching method. For the understudied glasses, the temperature dependence of dc electrical conductivity was measured from a characteristic temperature to 380 K, which certified their semiconducting nature. The measured condu...

The quenching effect of Se(>4— and NO3(scavenger for trapped electrons) on the delayed luminescence ('recombination luminescence') caused by the recombination of trapped electrons with mother tryptophan cations was investigated in aqueous 9 M NaOH and 9.5 M LiCI glasses at 77 K . The results show that the trapped electrons responsible for the recombination fluorescence were deep-trapped ones in...

Terbium oxide doped tetraborate glasses were prepared from the reaction of Tb2O3 and Na2B4O7 .10 H2O on reagent grade. At first, the base borate glass of Na2B4O7 was prepared by melting dehydrated borax at 1000 ˚C for 30 min and then the obtained base glass was crushed and powdered. Appropriate amounts of Tb2O3 (5-20 mol %) and Na2B4O7 powdered glass were mixed and melted at 1200 ˚C for 15 min....

The photoionization process of indole in alkaline aqueous solutions at 77 °K and the recombination process of trapped electron with its mother molecule were investigated. The fluorescence spectrum of indole in these glassy media depended on the NaOH concentration; the disappearance of the 325 nm band at the NaOH concentrations higher than 5 M with the appearance of a fluorescence band at 375 nm...
